Checking the System requirements Edit
Debian has very low system requirements. All the same, you should double-check to make sure you have enough memory and disk space for your needs. The system requirements are:
|Install type||RAM (minimal)||RAM (recommended)||Hard drive|
|No desktop||64 megabytes||256 megabytes||1 gigabyte|
|With Desktop||64 megabytes||512 megabytes||5 gigabytes|
You may be able to make do with even less, depending on your precise needs, If you have never used Debian before, though, try to meet the above requirements.
Changing your boot order Edit
You may need to change the boot order in your computer's BIOS to tell it to boot from a CD or floppy first. Depending on the manufactuer, you will need to press Esc, F1, F2, or Del to access the BIOS.
